Hey guys!
Welcome to Stick’s Scratch Kitchen!
I just wanted to write a quick post to say hello and to tell you a little bit about myself and what exactly this blog is all about!
So here we go!
My name is Jessica Sticklinski (aka the “Stick” of Stick’s Scratch Kitchen). I am a chemical engineer by day and a newbie food blogger, recipe developer, and food photographer by night—literally.
I have always had a keen interest in anything having to do with the kitchen. My mom got me hooked when I was around 4 years old when she let me “help” her make a funfetti cake. Once I realized cake came from the kitchen, I was very interested in learning how to bake.
I am also an avid runner. Half marathons are my absolute favorite race, but I dabble in every distance from 5Ks to marathons.
When I ran my first full marathon back in 2018, I decided to take my nutrition a little more seriously and began making dishes out of Shalane Flanagan’s Run Fast. Eat Slow. cookbook.
Thanks to those four months of training and cooking nutrient-dense meals, I learned a lot about healthy eating and how important it is for fueling our bodies properly. And that has translated to my everyday life. Now I make wholesome eating a priority.
My goal with this blog is to share some of my favorite healthy, clean, wholesome recipes with you. I believe that healthy CAN be tasty. And dare I say, indulgent?
So stay tuned for recipe updates!
In the meantime, be sure to follow me on Instagram and sign up for the e-mail list if you want to stay up-to-date on my newest creations!
I can’t wait to get started y’all!
Happy cooking,
Jess
