Make Brown Sugar Roasted Sweet Potatoes
Step 1: Prepare Sweet Potatoes
Start by preheating the oven to 425°F.
Wash and cube the sweet potatoes and transfer to a large bowl. I prefer to leave the skins on. They are super flavorful and packed with tons of extra nutrients. Plus, I find that the pieces with the skins on crisp up more nicely than the skinless pieces. But if you’re not a fan of skins, peel the sweet potatoes before cubing them.
Drizzle the potatoes with 1 tablespoon of avocado oil or extra virgin oil and add brown sugar (or coconut sugar), granulated garlic, smoked paprika, ground mustard, onion powder, salt and pepper. Toss well to coat.

Step 2: Roast Sweet Potatoes
Spread the seasoned sweet potatoes out on a large baking sheet and cook for 18 to 20 minutes, or until soft when poked with a fork. Transfer to a large bowl and enjoy immediately.

- 1 Tbsp avocado or extra virgin olive oil
- ½ Tbsp coconut sugar or brown sugar
- 1 tsp granulated garlic
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp ground mustard
- ¼ tsp onion powder
- ¼ tsp cracked black pepper
