This Creamy Horseradish Sauce pairs velvety light mayo, zingy horseradish, tangy Dijon mustard, and sweet maple syrup to create an irresistibly unique sauce perfect for dipping, spreading, and drizzling on everything from sandwiches to french fries.
Ingredients for Creamy Horseradish Sauce
- Light mayo – we LOVE Hellmann’s Light Mayo, but any light mayo will work. It forms the creamy base for this sauce and helps take the edge off of the horseradish.
- Inglehoffer horseradish – we use this specific brand because it is a little higher quality than some of the other brands. Horseradish gives this sauce it’s signature intense, spicy, and zingy flavor.
- Dijon mustard – adds a little extra tang to this sauce.
- Maple syrup – the sweetness from pure maple syrup helps mellow out the sharpness of the horseradish.
- Salt and pepper – for simple, easy seasoning.
How to Make Creamy Horseradish Sauce
In a small bowl, whisk together the mayo, horseradish, Dijon mustard, maple syrup, and salt and pepper, to taste. Cover and refrigerate until needed.
Vegan option: To make this recipe plant-based or vegan, use vegan mayo and replace Dijon mustard with ground mustard or use a vegan brand of Dijon mustard.

How to Store Horseradish Sauce
Store this sauce in an airtight container or mason jar in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days. We don’t recommend keeping this sauce for longer than 4 days, as mayo can spoil quickly.
