This honey mustard dipping sauce is creamy and tangy with a hint of spice. This sauce is super quick and easy and comes together in 5 minutes or less! Use it as a dunking sauce for french fries, chicken nuggets, and fresh veggies or slather on wraps, burgers, you name it.
I’ve always been a HUGE fan of honey mustard. As a kid, any time my family would eat out I’d go straight for the fried chicken tenders and fries and ask for honey mustard dipping sauce. I wanted a vat of that stuff to bathe my tenders and fries in. But, of course, what I really got was a tiny bowl. I would scrape my tenders along every inch of the bowl, making every last drop count (I clearly didn’t know that you could just ask for more. *sigh).
As an adult, I have the same love for honey mustard and will find any reason to make a small batch of this delicious golden sauce.
By simply mixing equal parts of honey, mayo, and Dijon with a splash of white vinegar, cayenne, and salt and pepper, you get a deliciously creamy, sweet, and mustardy sauce perfect for dunking, drizzling, and dipping. And it only takes 5 minutes and a handful of ingredients!
Ingredients
- Honey – for the sweetness.
- Light mayonnaise – for the creamy consistency. We love using Hellmann’s Light mayo.
- Dijon mustard – for the tanginess.
- White vinegar – for a touch of acidity.
- Seasonings – cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper are super simple additions that make this honey mustard pop with flavor and a touch of heat.

I made this without the vinegar because I didn’t have any on hand. It was amazing. I’ve been looking for a recipe close to what my old culinary teacher uses and this is almost exactly like it!
