Hands down one of the best ways to eat broccoli is tossed with olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper and then roasted to crispy, golden perfection in the oven. Roasted broccoli is one of our go-to side dishes. It’s super easy, quick, and only takes 5 ingredients.
How to Make Oven Roasted Broccoli
Preheat the oven to 425°F.
Cut the broccoli crowns into small, roughly equally sized florets. Wash and pat dry with a paper towel. You’ll want the broccoli to be as dry as possible to get that perfect browning when roasted.
Transfer the broccoli florets to a bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Toss to coat. Sprinkle with garlic, salt, and pepper. Toss again to coat.
Spread the seasoned broccoli out evenly on a large baking sheet. Cook for 15 to 20 minutes, or until tender and lightly browned in places. Remove from heat. Enjoy!
How to Pair Roasted Broccoli
This broccoli goes wonderfully with many dishes. Here’s a few of our favorite ways to pair this oven roasted broccoli with grains and protein to make a delicious, filling bowl.
Grains – brown rice (like our favorite miso brown rice and cilantro lime brown rice), farro, Israeli couscous, quinoa, and pasta (like miso brown butter gnocchi or cauliflower gnocchi) are perfect for mixing with this broccoli.
Proteins – grilled chicken, shrimp, steak, Italian sausage, turkey or chicken sausage, and ground beef are great protein options. Plant-based options, like tofu, roasted chickpeas, or lentils also pair well with this broccoli.
Sauces/Dressings – vinaigrettes, roasted red pepper romesco sauce, a drizzle of balsamic vinegar or balsamic reduction are a few dressing options for your bowl.
